David S. Lynch

Managing Director

David Lynch has led Athena's market analysis and investment research effort since 2004. David is responsible for providing macroeconomic input into Athena's asset allocation decisions and investment strategy. He oversees Athena's research team which covers the entire spectrum of public and private asset classes in addition to addressing client-specific requests on a variety of investment topics.

As the head of Research, David sets priorities for the team, leads the daily research meeting, oversees production of Athena's quarterly Market Overview and all other investment publications. David has particular expertise in hedge fund and fixed income investments.

Prior to joining Athena, David was the Portfolio Manager for emerging markets fixed income at Colorado PERA (the state pension fund). During his time at PERA, David also covered various industries for the high yield and investment grade corporate debt portfolios. Previously, he worked at Eaton Vance Management where he was a member of the research and trading team for the firm's global strategic income fund and government obligations fund. David also worked as an Economist at Cahners Economics covering the global electronics industry.

He holds a B.A. in Economics from Dartmouth College and an MBA from the F.W. Olin School of Business at Babson College. David is a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society and the CFA Society of Colorado.
