Leonard L. Lewin

President, Managing Director, General Counsel

Leonard L. Lewin joined the firm in 2008 and is General Counsel. Prior to joining Athena Capital, he was the Chairman and Managing Partner of the law firm Gadsby Hannah LLP and was instrumental in merging the firm with McCarter English, where he also served on the combined firms' Executive Committee. Len previously served as Chief Legal Counsel to Massachusetts Governors Paul Cellucci and Jane Swift. Len is a cum laude graduate of Suffolk University Law School where he also taught as an adjunct professor for over 25 years.

Len has over 35 years of experience as a practicing attorney, with expertise in the areas of family law, entertainment law, government relations, and domestic and international business ventures. Len also served as Chairman of the Judicial Nominating Council for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly named Len as one of the Top Ten Lawyers of 2001 and he was also named the 2004 Lawyer of the Year by the Massachusetts Inns of Court. Len is listed in the 2006 edition of "Best Lawyer in America" and was also recognized in Boston Magazine as a Massachusetts Super Lawyer in 2005 and 2006 and a New England Super Lawyer in 2007, 2008 and 2009. Len currently serves on the Board of the Massachusetts Technology Development Corporation.
